I quit my job last night. Long story. I feel happy/satisfied about it though. No regrets. The end.

Operation Infiltrate Rosarito is finally going down today. The guys are taking me down for my birthday and it's gonna be mine and Kalvin's first time down there, so we're on n00b status this weekend. Hahaha. Apparently we had 2-out-of-3 cars sell out by leaving The Heights about an hour ago while me, Pedro, and Rene aren't leaving until about 3-4PM. Fuggggeeeennnn sellouts. Be back on Sunday.

Wow. Got busted on Chino Hills Parkway the other night by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Fucking got my ass for no front license plate once again... for like the 4th or 5th time too. He just gave me a warning (still haven't gotten an actual ticket for it yet), but just the way he busted me was super bitch status. He busted a u-turn after passing me going the opposite direction then ends up at the red light with me at Chino Hills Pkwy and Peyton. He pulls up into the crosswalk so his car was ahead of mine, sticks his head out the window, and looks back toward my car... so it was obvious he was looking directly at where my license plate should've been. Light turns green, he speeds off fast enough to where he was no longer in my sight, must've pulled off into a residential area, comes back onto Chino Hills Pkwy BEHIND me somehow, then pulls the red & blue on me. Fucking asshole.

2006 NHL Stanley Cup Finals Prediction. [06 Jun 2006|03:23pm]
[ mood | rushed ]
[ music | Mario Winans - Come Back Home ]

So what seems to be the popular belief is that the Edmonton Oilers should and will win Lord Stanley's Cup this year due to the one-and-only reason of the team calling Canada its home. Hockey and Canada go hand in hand, right? I THINK NOT. Dwayne Roloson, Edmonton's shining star who was obtained just before the Trade Deadline as a result of them giving up their 2006 First-Round Draft Pick to the Minnesota Wild, was injured during Game 1 which took place last night in Raleigh, North Carolina. Basically, Roloson is out for the rest of the series with his MCL sprain and backup goalie Ty Conklin was an integral part of their 5-4 loss in which Carolina's captain, Rod Brind'Amour, intercepted the puck in a misread play between Conklin and defenseman Jason Smith, who fanned on his pass to clear the puck... resulting in Brind'Amour's monumental momentum-shifting empty-net goal to take the lead with only 31 or 32 seconds left in the 3rd Period.

Game motherfucking over for the Edmonton Oilers and the Carolina Hurricanes will win their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history in a series of 5 games, or possibly even a four-game sweep. Only time will tell.

Dwayne Roloson got FUCKED UP.

Wow after not hitting a single golf ball since Winter Break, I was extremely surprised that I was able to even hit the damn thing when Pedro and I went to the driving range at Pacific Palms earlier tonight. Not only did I still have the skills to hit the ball really well, I can now hit the netting/fence at the other end of the range... which is 235 yards away. Pretty freaking good if you ask me. The only bad thing is that I'm already feeling some extreme soreness in my thighs and biceps, so I think it's safe to assume that I'm going to be pretty sore for the next day or two and then some.

[ music | Luke & Q. - My Turn ]

I remember first hearing this song maybe about two months ago(?) on 100.3 The Beat while I was barely in my second week of working at Pizza Hut here in Chino. At the time, I thought to myself that the song suited me perfectly back during that certain point in time (i.e. Cristina Lin from Wilson). Anyway... I heard it for probably the millionth time while I was driving home from Hacienda Heights earlier tonight, so I finally decided to search for the lyrics online. Unfortunately, EVERY site I looked at only had the lyrics for the first verse, chorus, and second half of the second verse. Basically, I got so into figuring out the rest of the lyrics to where I kept rewinding so I could hear the words clearly and type everything on Word.

Took me about an hour to finish this shit. Enjoy.

“My Turn” by Luke & Q.

[1st Verse]
Girl, who that dude you with?
Could've swore I saw him push up on your friend
Girl, who that dude you with?
Never seen him buy you nothing, always spending your ends

He don't ice your wrists
Don't take no trips
Don't spend no time
He don't rock your spine

But I'll ice your wrists
We'll take the trips
I'll spend the time
Girl, I'll hit ya right

[Chorus]
Now it's my turn, forget about your man
We all know that you can do so much better than him so
Might as well let him know, you 'bout to let him go
It's my turn, it's my turn
Girl, it's my turn; Girl, I'm up to bat
You'll be askin' who's him once I hit that back
Girl, what you need to do; Is let that loser lose
It's my turn, it's my turn, yeah

[2nd Verse]
I'm the one you need (I'm him)
The one that's down; Baby girl, sink or swim
Girl, I'm the one you need (I'm him)
He a pair of lies and I'm the brand new him

He don't hold your hand
Don't let him be your man
He don't see the dime
Don't know you're gonna be mine

But I'll grab your hand
Proud to be your man
Never tell you lies
You's a star in my eyes

[Bridge]
Baby, you don't have to be afraid
I'm just tryin' to be everything he ain't
'Cause it's been way too long and I ain't gonna sit back and watch it no more
'Cause when you're with him, you're still alone
He gonna lose you like that, I want to do you like that
I put it on my Gram; Girl, I give a damn
All you gotta do is give me my turn

[Chorus]
Now it's my turn, forget about your man (Said it's my turn)
We all know that you can do so much better than him so
Might as well let him know, you 'bout to let him go
It's my turn, it's my turn
Girl, it's my turn; Girl, I'm up to bat
You'll be askin' who's him once I hit that back
Girl, what you need to do; Is let that loser lose
It's my turn, it's my turn

Now it's my turn (It's my turn), forget about your man
We all know that you can do much better than him so(Better than he knows)
Might as well let him know (Might as well let him go), you 'bout to let him go
It's my turn, it's my turn
Now it's my turn; Girl, I'm up to bat
You'll be askin' who's him once I hit that back
Girl, what you need to do; Is let that loser lose
It's my turn, it's my turn (Baby, it's my turn)

[Fade to End]
Girl, it's my turn; You know it's my turn
My turn, my turn (Baby, it's my turn)
Girl, it's my turn; Forget about your man
My turn, my turn (Baby, it's my turn)
Girl, it's my turn; You know it's my turn
My turn, my turn (Baby, it's my turn)
Girl, it's my turn; Let that loser lose
My turn, my turn (Baby, it's my turn)

Damn last night was crazy. GMR madness and I just so happened to actually get down for once at the spot where everyone always chills while letting their brakes and engines cool off. Ended up meeting some pretty cool guys who share the same passion of grip status canyon driving. So I finally went downhill on GMR for the first time ever. We had a line of six cars. I was fourth in line and ended up in the very back by the time we made it to the bottom of the hill. Freaking go figure. Who else up there is driving a 3,400+ lb. sedan with stock suspension AND with both front struts broken once again even though all four were replaced no more than about three months ago? That would be moi. But then who else got mad ass props for keeping up with an S13 with a pretty good coilover setup for about 90% of the way back uphill until I started messing up here and there. Good stuff. Good stuff. Can't wait until I finally find some freaking coilovers.

Damn I watched "Lucky Number Slevin" starring Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Lucy Liu earlier today with my brother. It was pretty freaking good... for a Josh Hartnett movie. I swear I hated the guy before watching this new movie, but I gotta admit... he's a pretty good actor although I'm not too fond of his previous films. Lucy Liu was looking gorgeous as usual, so that was a plus. This movie is a must-see. GO WATCH IT!

Taste of LA by day. Los Angeles Kings game by night. It doesn't get any better than that.

Heck yes now the Kings are within 3 FREAKING POINTS of getting into the Western Conference's 8th-seed Playoff spot! Three more points, guys! I know my boys can handle it.

Dang I've been sick like crazy for the past 3-4 days or so. Been knocked up on Comtrex pills practically 24/7. I took two nighttime pills the other morning around 7:30 and I was knocked out until like 5pm that day. What a waste of a day. Geez. I can't believe I missed Around the Horn on ESPN 'cause of that shit. Can't live life to its fullest while missing one of my Top 3 television shows on a daily basis. It's just like messing with routine. When you mess with your routine... good game, bitches. Good game.

Mr. G gave us '05ers a CD with the field show songs from the two years we had the opportunity to be under his direction, including the '01 and '04 versions of Conquistadores as well. Good stuff. Watching Mt. SAC's Wind Ensemble concert (shared with Chino High School this year) this past Thursday night and attending Taste of LA yesterday afternoon, I have finally decided that I'm going to stick with being a Music major for now. I think these two events gave me that little kick, boost (or whatever you wanna call it) that I've been needing to reveal to myself where my true passions really lie. How the heck did I almost let myself give up so easily on what I had been set out to do ever since freshman year in high school? It's funny how things like this happen to ya sometimes.

If it weren't for the talks with Mr. G, Mr. Chevalier (Mt. SAC's Director of Bands), and Mr. Naylor, I have no idea where I would be right now. I don't know what I'd do without them.

$48 in tip yesterday during my 10am-5pm opening shift. $40 in tip today during my 4-11:30pm closing shift. Damn, I'm good.

Laurence, one of my delivery driver co-workers, invited me to go bowling with him and the guys (other drivers) tomorrow night (technically tonight) at Oak Tree Lanes in Diamond Bar. I'm really looking forward to it. I feel extremely good working at my new store here in Chino. About 95% of the drivers are within 18-22 years old, which is more chill 'cause everyone is pretty close in age. Danny, my new boss, is probably the most outgoing and extremely nice/chill/funny Restaurant General Manager (4th RGM I've worked with including overtime with Stephanie at the Walnut store across the street from Mt. SAC) I have had so far. I'm sure he's not too old either. If I remember correctly, Laurence was talking shit to Danny yesterday about how he's already 24 or 25 years old (don't remember which of the two), lives in a freaking pimp palace down in Chino Hills off of Soquel Canyon (REALLY nice area of Chino Hills), and is still single. HAHAHA. That shit was pretty amusing. Laurence and I were outside chillin' during my 10-minute break, and he told me that Danny was talking to him about how he already trusts me and I'm either #2 or #3 of his top three drivers even though I would only be at that store my second full week this coming Saturday. But then it's all expected anyway. Sarah, one of our Shift Managers, told me that she wanted me to take a double-delivery instead of the other closing driver who has been at that store longer, though I have more delivery driver experience and just Pizza Hut experience overall. C'mon, I've been working for Pizza Hut in The Heights from January '04 to July '04 until I voluntarily quit after my family decided that we were making an offer for our current home in Chino. Moving wasn't actually the main reason as to why I decided to quit. It was SUMMER BEFORE SENIOR YEAR. All the good shit was going down back at that time, and it was also about two weeks, give or take a few days, before my 18th birthday. I simply did not want to spend the rest of my pre-senior year summer busting my ass talking to complete idiots on the phone for minimum wage. Hell no. So one night during the last two weeks of April '05, I just so happened to go into the store to visit Stephanie after seeing her car and a few other employees' cars parked outside of the store while driving by. We talked for a bit, then she brought up how that I'm always in The Heights for school anyway, so I might as well come back and help out the store since their CSR (Customer Service Representative--inside employee--answering phones, cutting pizza, folding boxes, taking carryout orders, cashing out carryout orders, etc.) effectiveness was sucking shit at the time. Obviously, I agreed... so my second stint at the Hacienda Heights store was from May '05 to January '06 until my King-of-Lag ass got FIRED OVER THE FUCKING PHONE. The reason: excessive tardiness. Go figure. I guess you can say that I'm a CSR turned Delivery Driver. My current status at my new store in Chino is February '06 to Present. Maybe I should start taking bets on how long I'm gonna last at my new store. HAHAHAHA. =D

So since I was closing tonight, I decided to go on my "Ultimate Mountain Run." The "Ultimate Mountain Run" (name I actually gave to the route) is not your usual Turnbull Run up the Hacienda Heights side, down the Whittier side and back the way you came. No, no, no. My ULTIMATE MOUNTAIN RUN is actually located in mountains, not just your ordinary hill. To get there, I exit at Azusa Ave. off of I-210 and head north all the way to where Azusa Ave. turns into San Gabriel Canyon Rd, which is where the actual mountain run itself begins. I usually reset my Trip A mileage at some sign for a restaurant or something. I believe there's a street on the right where the sign is too. Anyway, so I just go up San Gabriel Canyon Rd. for about 7-10, maybe 11 miles then turn right onto East Fork Rd., now heading east. There's a switchback at the end of East Fork which is where Glendora Mountain Rd. begins. This is probably the most insane and technical part of the entire run. The road is so narrow and the turns are so sharp and quick, it is NOTHING like San Gabriel Cyn Rd. where I can keep a constant pace through the turns at anywhere from 55-70mph. Maybe 75. I'll confirm on those numbers next time I go up there. The fastest my car (skill factor in play, as well) ever hits on Glendora Mtn Rd. is between 35-45mph. It's just simply one of those roads made where practically no one can go faster than 45 or 50. After about 4.5-5.0 miles, there's another switchback. If you take the switchback, you'll end up on Glendora Ridge Road, either that or you could stay on Glendora Mountain Rd. and end up back down in the city of Glendora. Glendora Ridge has been and still is my favorite part of the entire run. Hands down. There is no painted line to separate the road into two lanes since it's rarely travelled upon to begin with, so it kinda reminds me of Intial D's "Little Mountain Road" with the match between the AE86 and Levin. Hopefully that rings a bell for anyone who has ever watched that particular episode. The road is pretty quick, but not nearly as quick as San Gabriel Cyn. I can keep a steady pace from about 50-60mph with the occassional slowing to sub-40mph through sharper turns. The stretch of Glendora Ridge is 10.9 miles, which I measured by completely resetting my Trip B mileage computer. Unfortunately, doing so ruined my original plan of getting a complete measurement of the entire run. I fucked up. Bad call on my end. You'll end up in the heart of Mount Baldy Village when you get to the end of Glendora Ridge Rd., so the only way to get back to the city is to go down Mount Baldy Road. It's slightly quicker than San Gabriel Canyon Rd. due to its longer, high-speed turns in which I can just about cruise down the mountain while being in neutral about 95% of the time to save gas... but totally own my brakes at the same time. I go out to do my "Ultimate Mountain Run" at least once a month, so yeah. I should be working on my essay, but I was bored outta my freaking my mind and decided to let you all in on one of the more interesting things that I do in my spare time.

The "Ultimate Mountain Run" is highlighted in red:

Part I - First 1/2 to 2/3 of run.
Ultimate Mounain Run - Part I

Part II - Last 1/3 to 1/2 of run.
